NSW: Man and woman arresteed over stabbing

SYDNEY, Aug 29 AAP - Police have arrested and charged a man and woman over the stabbing
death of a man nine months ago at Liverpool, in Sydney's south-west.

The body of Steven Bannister, 24, was found by passers-by on the footpath adjacent
to the Hume Highway about 6am on Wednesday 22 November 2006.

He had suffered multiple stab wounds to his chest, stomach and back.

Strike Force Gilwarney, comprising investigators from Liverpool Local Area Command
and State Crime Commands Homicide Squad, was established to investigate Mr Bannister's
death.

A 19-year-old man was arrested and charged later that day with Mr Bannister's murder.

Following exhaustive inquiries, a 44-year-old woman and 18-year-old man were arrested
yesterday and charged with concealing a serious offence and attempting to pervert the
course of justice.
